Community Dinner

Last weekend we had several visitors to Old College. Fr. Ed Obermiller, C.S.C.came to the house and spent the afternoon cooking. Having been a student at the Culinary Institute of America, he knew his way around the kitchen. As the day wore on and the heavenly aroma made its way upstairs, we found ourselves longing more and more for dinnertime to arrive.

We were also joined by the Provincial Administration for Vespers and Supper. Provincial Fr. David Tyson, C.S.C. witnessed Fr. Steve Lacroix’s, C.S.C. Profession of Faith and his vow of obedience to the Holy Catholic Church as director of Old College during Vespers.

Following Vespers, dinner was served. Twenty-five people crowded into the basement of Old College and enjoyed an excellent tre-piatti(three course) meal of bruschetta, salad, and steak tenderloin with penne pasta. For almost two hours, the sounds of laughter and fellowship filled the halls of Old College, as we all shared stories, jokes, and an excellent meal together. When the evening was over, we found that both our stomachs and souls were filled to the brim.

In Christ,

Josh Bathon
