Greetings to all and a very happy Easter! Having celebrated Lent, Holy Week, and the Sacred Triduum, we have finally made it to all the glories of this Easter Season. Easter is truly one of the most wonderful times of the year, and of all the places to celebrate it, Notre Dame is one of the best. (Coming soon an update from the guys studying in Rome about their Easter Celebration. I reckon Vatican City is another lovely place to spend Easter, but don't take my word for it.) Campus is beautiful, the sky is blue, Spring is coming into full blossom, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart looks beautiful. Hallelujahs are on the lips of the people and choirs again. The joy of Christ's Resurrection makes all the difference.
One realization I have made this Easter is a greater understanding of the importance of the Christian community. Attending Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Services at the Basilica, I saw so many of the friends, classmates, professors, and priests that I know. It wasn't just me worshipping and commemorating these crucial events in the life of Christ by myself. It was the whole university community united together in prayer. We had a shared focus during this sacred time. These days were that much more meaningful knowing that we were all experiencing it together.
I hope your Easter is blessed, that the joy of the risen Christ fills your hearts, and that you can spend this holiday with family and friends. And remember, today is the beginning of the Easter season, not the end.
