Break Week

Spring Break is coming to a close for us as we enjoyed a week of relaxation. Spring Break is a wonderful time to recharge for the second half of the semester. The break also provided the time for us to do many new activities. Some Old Collegians are traveling over break and others opted to stay home. I chose the latter but it still proved to be a great experience.
On the first day of break (last Saturday) John Ahearn and I went to St. John the Evangelist Church in St. Joseph, Indiana to attend a day-long conference given by Dr. Scott Hahn. The Church was connected to a shrine of Christ's Passion which only added to the retreat. During a break in the conference, I was able to walk the the Stations of the Cross from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion. Each station consisted of bronze life-size statues depicting the scene. This allowed me to draw myself closer into each station as I could walk around and submerge myself into the station itself. This was a very fitting way to enhance my Lenten experience as we all begin the Way of the Cross with Christ.

God Bless,

Tim Singler
