This Wednesday, September 22, was the start of the Forty Days for Life event nationwide (http://www.40daysforlife.com/). In South Bend the event started off with a Rosary for Life outside the local abortion clinic and will continue with a twenty-four hour vigil for the forty days. Bishop Rhoades and about five hundred plus others including priests, brothers, sisters, laity, and of course Old Collegians were in attendance for the beginning of the Forty Days for Life. The turnout for the event was much greater than I or anyone else expected because not only did we fill the area around the speakers but we also filled the parking lots across the street and the parking lots right next to the abortion clinic. On a different note vocation guests continue to come with two visitors this weekend and a Come and See Weekend with four guests next week.
