Earlier last week, the second-year men of Old College Seminary received their cassocks during the Tuesday evening Mass in the historic Log Chapel on the campus of Notre Dame. In recent years, this ceremony has become an Old College tradition signifying the men's advancement in priestly and religious formation. The cassocks were blessed by Rev. Stephen Lacroix CSC, Director of Old College Seminary and celebrant of the Mass, with Rev. Drew Gawrych CSC of the Holy Cross Vocations Office assisting and concelebrating. During the blessing, the men were exhorted to assist at the sacred mysteries with attentiveness and reverence, especially at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. We men of Old College congratulate our second-year brothers on this advancement in their seminary formation, a visible sign of our common love of the Catholic priesthood and life in Holy Cross.
