Christ is our Light

This past week has been filled with wonderful opportunities for not only me, but the Old College community to grow in faith and love towards Christ. Beginning this week with Mass that was presided by our newly installed bishop of the South Bend – Fort Wayne diocese, Bishop Kevin Rhodes, and ending the week on retreat, I have felt the Spirit of the Lord ever so present. While listening to Bishop Rhodes give his homily, the Holy Spirit touched me in a feeling of peace and joy as I took note to what our Bishop envisioned for the university and for the growth of Catholicism. Bishop Kevin spoke specifically about the importance to stay close to Christ through Scripture and the Eucharist along with the need for all Catholics, especially at Notre Dame, to live their faith authentically and to not be afraid to publicly display our love for Christ and the many graces he has graciously given to us. As I meditate on this past week, I too need to thank the Lord for all His gifts and opportunities that He has given me to grow closer to Him.
