On Friday evening, we attended Mass at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart with Bishop Emeritus John D'Arcy of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Following Mass, we attended the Brother Andre Dinner hosted by the Office of Vocations which consisted of a meal and talks given by two Holy Cross priests--Fr. Greg Haake, C.S.C and Fr. Sean McGraw, C.S.C. The Andre Dinner gives men discerning the priesthood an opportunity to get to know the priests and mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The dinner was well-attended by men from both the University of Notre Dame and Holy Cross College. After the Andre Dinner, we headed off for our Spring Semester Retreat at the LaPorte Center, a property owned by the Congregation of Holy Cross in LaPorte, Indiana. Fr. Kevin Russeau, C.S.C gave six presentations on "The Bible and the Mass" compiled by the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. We also had opportunities for community and personal prayer, recreation, and personal studies. We returned back to Old College this afternoon refreshed and ready for the week ahead.
