“Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." (MK 1:17) This was definitely the theme this weekend at the Campus of Notre Dame as two men, Gerard Olinger, JR, csc, and Kevin Grove, csc, were ordained to the Presbyterate on Easter Saturday at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
The festivities started on Friday with Mass and dinner at Moreau Seminary. Later that night, friends, family, seminarians, and fellow religious gathered with the Ordanandi to celebrate Lucernarium and the blessing of chalices and patents. Of course, there was a soirée that followed the service to celebrate.
On Saturday, the “big day” had arrived, Ordination Day. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart was filled with friends and family of the Ordanandi. Bishop Daniel Jenky, csc, Bishop of Peoria, was the principle celebrant for the liturgy. After the Mass, there was a nice reception at the golden dome followed by a festive dinner at Moreau Seminary.
On Sunday, Father Kevin Grove celebrated his Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Joseph Parish in downtown South Bend and Fr. Gerry Olinger celebrated his Mass of Thanksgiving at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

The Men of Old College feel extremely blessed to have been able to participate in this ordination weekend. We would like to convey our deepest gratitude to Frs. Kevin and Gerry for their vocation to Holy Cross and we also would like for them to know that they will be in our prayers as the start their priestly ministry.
In Holy Cross,
